Mental Health First Aid USA is an 8-hour training to teach participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. This class is appropriate for anyone over the age of 18 who wants to learn more about mental health problems.

The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance-use disorders. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you will learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non- crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Participants will receive a nationally recognized certification in Mental Health First Aid. 8 FREE CEUs are available for this training.

“Mental health is a part of everyone’s life, and an emergency can happen to anyone. By becoming first aid certified, I felt that I could take a stand and say, ‘As friends, family members, and citizens, we have a duty to support each other’s well-being, and to be able to respond if there is a problem.’”

“I have used the steps of Mental Health First Aid training several times. Seeing someone in a mental health emergency can look a little scary. The training is beneficial because it sets forth a straightforward, easy to remember set of steps that can be useful to stabilize an otherwise scary situation.”
