Sean joined NAMI Metro Suburban in March 2019 and has been the Drop-In Center Coordinator since June 2021.
Before then, Sean served as a Recovery Support Specialist at all three NAMI Metro Suburban Living Room locations and has provided NAMI outreach support to local hospitals. Sean is a Certified Recovery Support Specialist and is very passionate about connecting people living with a mental health condition to the wellness lifestyle. Sean grew up in Oak Park, Illinois only a couple blocks from the Drop-In Center. He is thrilled to be representing NAMI while serving his hometown community.
Sean earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a focus on professional writing. As the Drop-In Center Coordinator, Sean's mission is to host a stigma-free space in the Club House Model, that serves as a friendly environment for peers looking to connect and build a community of support. Sean oversees Drop-In Center programing that utilizes peer-led wellness groups to enhance socialization, build life skills and celebrate art therapy. He enjoys building relationships with local organizations and fellow non-profits with a shared vision for providing service to people in the community. Sean also manages the Drop-In Center's social media with an emphasis on showcasing daily activities and telling the stories of the amazing Drop-In Center members!
Sean would like to express his endless gratitude towards the phenomenal Drop-In Center team made up of staff, interns, volunteers and participants for everything they do!
